We're excited to announce the addition of Titus System 5 cam and dowels to our extensive range of cabinet fixtures and fittings.
However you describe them - cabinets or carcasses - these flat-packed units form the bedrock of pretty much every kitchen installation, and obviously have applications for bedrooms and bathrooms too. They support all the decorative surfaces - worktops, door and drawer fronts but are often hidden away and forgotten about. Yet their construction and strength is vital for the longevity of kitchens and bedrooms, with years-worth of stress placed on even the simplest of cabinets.
The structural integrity of flat-packed carcasses is entirely reliant on the quality and strength of its connectors. The mechanical fastening system of using cam and dowels has long been favoured for its simplicity, strength and multiple applications but Titus have developed their cams and dowels to be quicker and easier to fit and lock in place, as well as providing greater structural strength to joints.
Environmental considerations are also an increasing factor: reusable connector systems enable furniture components to be separated and recycled more effectively than permanently bonded assemblies, especially important where there is steady business in recycling kitchen displays.
