We've strengthened our longstanding relationship with our neighbours, Broadfield Primary School, through a series of community-focused projects that have brought together product expertise, local support and careers engagement.
We attended Broadfield Primary School's Careers Fair back in April, introducing pupils to the world of manufacturing, business and the wide range of career opportunities available within the KBB industry.
During the visit, conversation turned to the school's staff canteen, which had been made using HPP products more than 25 years ago. On one hand, we're mightily impressed that a kitchen lasted that long but we also saw an opportunity to give it a refresh and give something back to a local school and help transform an area used by teachers and staff to relax, recharge and enjoy their breaks.
Transforming a familiar space
The canteen makeover demonstrates the versatility of our product offering and the benefits of our 'One-Stop-Shop' approach, providing trade customers with access to a wide range of products and materials. Drawing on our extensive product range, we kitted out the staff canteen with a full range of products:
- EGGER Natural Halifax Oak doors and drawer fronts from our Aspects Optima range
- EGGER Anthracite Mountain Basalt worktops
- Reginox Monte Carlo sink and Dania chrome tap
- Milan Black Knurled handles
- Blum drawers and hinges
- EasyCab flatpack carcasses
The project has helped revitalise the staff space, creating a more welcoming and enjoyable environment for those who work hard to support the school's pupils every day.
The project also reflects the strength of HPP's relationship with Broadfield Primary School, built over more than two decades, and highlights how long-standing partnerships can develop into meaningful opportunities to support the local community.
Inspiring future generations
Following the Careers Fair in April, we welcomed more than 45 Year 6 pupils for an educational visit. Led by Marketing Manager Kenika Gumbs and Marketing and Business Development Director Dan Mounsey, the visit included a presentation and a guided tour of our production facilities. Pupils had the opportunity to see manufacturing processes in action, ask questions and discover the variety of roles and career pathways available across the industry.
From production and operations to sales, customer service and other business functions, the visit helped demonstrate that the manufacturing sector offers opportunities for people with a wide range of interests and skills.
A commitment to the local community
At HPP, we're keen on building strong relationships within the local community. By supporting Broadfield Primary School through both the canteen refurbishment and careers engagement, we've been able to make a positive and practical contribution while helping young people learn more about the world of work.
The project brings together three important elements of HPP's values: showcasing the breadth of its One-Stop-Shop offering, supporting the communities in which it operates, and inspiring future generations to explore careers within manufacturing and the wider industry.
We look forward to continuing our relationship with Broadfield Primary School and supporting initiatives that make a positive difference to local pupils, teachers and the wider community.
