HPP is proud to celebrate a major milestone for Production Planning team member, Paul Fitzgerald, who has marked an impressive 25 years with the company.
Paul, who describes his overall experience at HPP as "very enjoyable," originally joined the company after leaving the RAF, having spent 19 years in Supply, which included refuelling aircraft. Despite having no previous experience in the KBB industry, Paul has gone on to build an extensive career at HPP, gaining experience across many different areas of the business.
Over the past 25 years, Paul has worked in a variety of roles, including warehousing, Cut and Edged, night-shift offloading, panel production and, most recently, production planning.
Reflecting on what he has learned during his time with HPP, Paul said that patience has probably been the biggest lesson. He explained that he was not naturally a very patient person, but over the years he has learned to stay calm and become more patient.
Paul's 25-year milestone was celebrated on Wednesday 19th August, when he was presented with his long-service award. Managing Director Gareth Evans gave a speech before presenting Paul with his 25-year plaque and certificate.
The celebration took place in Panel Production (BP1), with the directors joining colleagues to congratulate Paul on his achievement. Members of the BP1 team also gathered in the canteen to help celebrate the occasion, which was rounded off with a well-deserved celebratory cake.
Paul is now the 15th member of HPP's prestigious '25 Club' - a fantastic achievement that reflects the strong commitment of our people and the wealth of experience and knowledge they continue to bring to the business. Long-serving colleagues like Paul are an important part of HPP's success and help ensure that valuable skills, experience and expertise remain at the heart of the company.
Paul also hold the dubious 'honour' of having the most outrageous costume in the history of HPP: Paul's 'Wear It Pink' outfit for our Breast Cancer Now charity fundraiser in Oct 2021 was just one of his wife's tops, a pair of her knickers and his workboots. It's still talked about today and prompted us to establish a set of 'acceptable' ground rules for future events!
