An unusual visitor called in at our Oldham base to share some illuminating knowledge about lighting for the KBB industry.
It was a mobile training academy in the form of a van called 'MICK' (Mobile Illumination Centre for KBB), which is showcasing the impressive products created by lighting supplier Sensio.
Yorkshire-based Sensio launched 'MICK' earlier this year to inspire, educate and take the perceived complexity out of lighting.
Amy Fairbank, our Marketing Coordinator, explains: "The aim was for Sensio trainer, Paul Gerrard, to educate our different departments on the new, innovative products but also the ease of installing the lighting - which is something that customers may not realise when purchasing lighting for their clients.
"So, for this reason, 'MICK' will be coming back for a spell outside our trade counter to allow trade customers to see step-by-step installations whilst experiencing the immersive setting."
Sensio training and product manager Neil Oldfield says: "Lighting can often be overlooked on a new installation project.
"Either the same single set of under cabinet lights are specified time and time again despite advances in technology or different styles of kitchen, or more often than not, dismissed from plans altogether."
In addition to MICK, the Sensio academy includes step-by-step online e-learning platforms to provide knowledge about lighting and how to install and specify it; live, online tailored webinars from Sensio's in-house training team, plus access to a library of product videos demonstrating key features, installation, and application of lighting in the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom.
