A big-hearted team of staff have raised almost £750 for Mahdlo Youth Zone after completing the Three Peaks of Saddleworth Challenge, a sponsored hike in the hills around Saddleworth.
Staff included Dan Mounsey, Matt Barker, Henley Bailey and Mark Staines, all from our marketing department; Stuart Hyde and Matt Barber, both from our purchasing department; and Shaun Nolan, our national contracts manager - along with Brock the dog.
They hoisted the HPP flag on Indian's Head, overlooking Dovestone Reservoir, and then Pots and Pans, which offers great views of Saddleworth's Pennine hills and villages.
Dan, our marketing manager, said: "It was a great day and we are delighted to have broken our original target of £500. Last year, round 90 people took part and raised around £4,000 for Mahdlo. However this year's event saw almost 220 people taking part and has raised over £13,000 for Mahdlo, which is a fantastic achievement.
Dan added: "We want to thank everyone who sponsored us including trade customers, colleagues, friends and families. Every donation was welcome and helped us break our target."
HPP has supported Mahdlo in a number of ways since its inception in 2012. This has included financial support as a corporate sponsor and other types of support, such as hosting educational activities and practical design challenges for young people at our HQ.
Earlier this year, we attended Mahdlo's annual Star Awards to celebrate the achievements of local youngsters from many different walks of life.
There are loads of ways you can help Mahdlo, such as mentoring, volunteering or attending events including its regular business networking breakfasts. To find out more, check out the the Mahdlo website - or contact them on 0161 785 3862.
