HPP Proud To Support Mahdlo Youth Charity Awards Night

We are proud supporters of Oldham's ground-breaking Mahdlo youth centre: HPP has been a Premier patron of the venue since it opened back in 2012.

Mahdlo is a registered charity which provides top-quality, safe and affordable activities for youngsters to visit in their leisure time.

The Oldham centre is open seven days a week, 52 weeks of the year, with a great range of sports, arts, leisure, well-being, volunteering, education and enterprise activities, both in-house and at other locations in the borough. It is locally-managed but also part of the OnSide network of youth clubs.

In addition to supporting Mahdlo financially, we've organised educational and fundraising activities over the years. These have included inviting Mahdlo youngsters to our HQ to build dolls houses with MDF panel and timber components, held a staff fitness challenge to set a new record for sit-ups and even walked on hot coals!

We will be attending Mahdlo's annual Star Awards on March 16th which will celebrate the amazing achievements of young members over the past 12 months. We're really looking forward to the night. It'll be great to meet youngsters, staff and other patrons.

Company chairman Stephen Hill said: "HPP is based in Oldham and we have a strong interest in the town and borough. We are Premier Patrons of Mahdlo because we want to give something back. We want Oldham to have a successful future and our young people are key to that future."

HPP's support for Mahdlo is ongoing through the year. This summer, an HPP staff team will be taking part in the Saddleworth Three Peak Challenge on July 6th. This is a Mahdlo fundraising walk through the beautiful Saddleworth countryside taking in local landmarks and hills such as Pots and Pans, Indian's Head and Wharmton Hill. Past walks have included picnics and refreshments on the route, and a barbecue at Saddleworth Rangers Rugby Club. Overall, it's a great day out!

Perhaps you'd like to take part this year too or support Mahdlo in another way? We'd really encourage you to get involved in any way that suits you.

There are loads of ways you can help Mahdlo, such as mentoring, volunteering or attending events including its regular business networking breakfasts. To find out more, go here to see the Mahdlo website - or contact them on 0161 785 3862.
