Back in November we began preparations for extending one of our existing warehouses, onto what was essentially waste ground between the end of the existing warehouse and the boundary fence.
After some exceptionally bad weather over the winter, with the builders facing strong winds, thick fog, persistent rain and snow, we're pleased to report that the warehouse extension is complete and in use.
The location of the extension meant there were some tricky access issues, especially for some of the larger cherry-pickers and cranes required for installing the steelwork structure, roof panels and cladding.
Whilst only a relatively small footprint (approximately 1400 sq. ft.) compared to the size of our other warehouses and recent builds, this warehouse extension allows us to house a further 1700 sheets of MFC, further expanding our capacity for a greater range of stock, available immediately to our trade customers.
Further site developments have meant there's been a fair amount of juggling of stock, as we look to create space to enable the new cantilever racking to be installed. Once this is installed the extension will be able to carry its full MFC capacity.
As the business continues to grow, warehousing space for bulky products such as MFC sheets and worktops remains a priority, and we'll be reporting on this and other developments in the next few months.
