They say every cloud has a silver lining and that’s certainly been the case for our newly refurbished Sheffield Trade Counter.
After the clouds literally opened on our Sheffield site causing extensive flood damage back in November 2019 the trade counter was forced to close and temporarily relocate to space within the warehouse.
We took the opportunity to redesign and redevelop the trade counter and work began in earnest a few weeks later but was then delayed due to the pandemic – it never rains but it pours!
The refurbishment restarted in late 2020 which saw the converted downstairs office space replastered, redecorated, with new flooring and a smart, contemporary collection area installed.
We think you’ll agree, it looks fantastic, and Branch Manager Mike Dawson was delighted to welcome staff and customers to the modern, lighter and brighter Sheffield Trade Counter in August!
Mike said: “We’ve redesigned what was the downstairs office and transformed it into the trade counter collections area. We’ve turned what was the upstairs showroom into extra warehouse space to extend the fittings department to allow us to carry more products and stock. If customers wish to see a particular product, we still have samples available for them to look at on request.
“This was an opportunity to invest in the trade counter to create a more pleasant environment for staff and customers and we’ve already had plenty of customer comments about how nice it looks. It’s a big improvement.
“It wasn’t ideal for customers or staff relocating to the warehouse after the flood, we had to create a makeshift service area, but there wasn’t a lot else we could do under the circumstances."
“Customers can now come into a nice clean, air-conditioned environment and it’s a much better working environment for our busy trade counter staff.”
Plans are in the pipeline for an official HPP opening in the very near future but in the meantime, well done to Mike and the Sheffield HPP team for overseeing the successful transformation!
