We're well on the way to completing our new 19,000 sq. ft. warehouse to support a £2.5 million expansion in manufacturing facilities.
Our new building is the biggest free-standing warehouse at our Oldham head office site in Greater Manchester. The triple-fronted warehouse will store worktops and panel products, freeing up another warehouse for conversion into a new manufacturing production line later this year.
We manufacture our own-brand products including the extensive Aspire vinyl wrapped kitchen and bedroom door range, our Aspects PVC-edged door collection and our Glide sliding doors. Sales have grown strongly across the business and this expansion will allow us to increase production capacity further.
Martin Hill, Operations Director, is overseeing the expansion reports: "The new warehouse project is going well. The site was cleared and prepared late in 2017, and since then steel framework has been erected with our familiar white and red outer cladding. A specialist concrete floor was then laid in two phases and we'll be installing cantilever racking to store worktops and sheet products.
"We've captured the whole project on time-lapse video, as well as filmed some of the construction from a drone camera flying above our manufacturing and head office site. It's a fascinating video which really highlights how the business has grown in so many ways to serve customers across the UK. We'll be releasing some footage shortly as the project nears completion."
Combined with our expanded second distribution centre in Sheffield, we now have over 250,000 sq ft of floor space.
